Santa Eulalia holidays take you to a town on the east coast of Ibiza. As a town, and not merely a tourist resort, it has much to offer visitors. Whilst purpose-built resorts have all the necessary ingredients for a summer break, they obviously lack traditional character and authenticity. With Santa Eulalia you eat where the locals eat and you shop where the local's shop. Holidays here are very popular with families, particularly those with younger children. The resort has two sandy beaches which slope gently into clear, shallow waters, ideal for paddling and less confident swimmers. An attractive, palm-fringed promenade is dotted with bars and small restaurants so you are never more than a stone's throw from refreshments. A number of water sports are available including pedalos. For great views over the area, take a walk up Puig de Missa hill with its sixteenth-century church. The panoramic views are spectacular and well worth the effort. The modern marina is a hive of activity and from there you can take a ferry trip to the island of Formentera, to Ibiza Town and to other resorts around the coast. You can, of course, reach the principal town by road in less than half an hour. It is certainly worth visiting with its historic old town, Dalt Vila, where you'll find the Cathedral Santa Maria d'Eivissa, dating from the fourteenth century.
Accommodation, whether it be hotel or apartment, reaches high standards of both comfort and service, providing all modern amenities. You are assured of a warm and friendly welcome. Since Santa Eulalia is a town in its own right, there are many fine restaurants serving a wide range of international cuisine. There are also bars, pubs, pizzerias and fast food outlets so there is plenty of choices which caters for all budgets. If you are unaccustomed to Spanish food, order tapas and you'll be given small portions of delicious Mediterranean cuisine, ideal as an appetiser or as a snack to fill the sometimes long gap between lunch and dinner. Local wines are pleasant and inexpensive. Santa Eulalia has supermarkets, specialist shops, and a Sunday market in the main square, La Ramblas. The market is a great place to buy gifts and souvenirs such as leather goods, jewellery, embroidered linens and pottery. Santa Eulalia is essentially a family resort and although there are a handful of lively venues, nightlife remains low key.
Cheap Santa Eulalia holidays can be taken from early April until late October. Temperatures rise from twenty into the low thirties in the height of the season. Several low cost airlines fly directly to Ibiza from regional airports. You can check on the Cheekytrip website for the availabilty of holidays from your local airport.
