Overseas holidays set to open from early July

Chris Butler June 29th, 2020 4,175 views

The Foreign Office is set to confirm overseas holidays will be given the go-ahead from early July.

Destinations expected to be opened up to British holidaymakers include Spain, Greece and France, with the proposed 14-day quarantine no longer deemed necessary.

The list of countries to be approved by the government will be announced this week and will likely be opened - via air bridges - the following week (6th July).

The current government advice warns against all but essential travel, but the rules will be lifted for countries deemed safe within the coming weeks.

Despite this, travel rules remain fluid and could be changed at any time. The 14-day quarantine period could be reintroduced if a holiday destination should see a new surge in COVID-19 infections.
